A half-hour massage offers a brief yet effective escape from the stresses of everyday life, providing targeted relief and relaxation in a condensed timeframe. Within this abbreviated session, I focus on specific areas of tension or discomfort, utilizing a combination of techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, or sports massage to deliver maximum benefits in a limited time. While the duration may be shorter than a full-length session, a half-hour massage still offers the opportunity to experience reduced muscle tension, improved circulation, and a heightened sense of well-being, making it an ideal option for individuals with busy schedules or those seeking quick relief between commitments.
A deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to alleviate chronic tension and discomfort. Through slow, deliberate strokes and focused pressure, I apply firm pressure to release knots and adhesions, promoting improved blood flow and mobility. Unlike a traditional Swedish massage, which focuses on relaxation, deep tissue massage aims to address specific issues such as chronic pain, injury rehabilitation, and muscle stiffness, providing relief and restoring balance to the body. But be advised, I’m way stronger than I look 💪 Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
A Swedish massage is a classic therapeutic technique designed to promote relaxation and overall well-being. It involves gentle, flowing strokes, kneading, and circular movements applied with varying pressure to the superficial layers of muscle and soft tissue. The goal of a Swedish massage is to reduce muscle tension, enhance circulation, and induce a state of deep relaxation. It's known for its soothing effects on both the body and mind, making it a popular choice for those seeking stress relief and rejuvenation.
A prenatal massage is a specialized form of massage therapy tailored to the unique needs of expecting mothers. With years of experience (and having been pregnant myself, I know what I needed!!) I understand the anatomical changes and concerns during pregnancy, prenatal massage focuses on providing relief from common discomforts such as lower back pain, swelling, and muscle tension. Utilizing gentle, nurturing techniques, the massage aims to improve circulation, reduce stress on weight-bearing joints, and promote relaxation for both the mother and the growing bébé. With a focus on comfort and safety, prenatal massage provides a soothing experience that supports the overall well-being of the expectant mother throughout her pregnancy journey.
A CBD massage combines the therapeutic benefits of massage therapy with the potential healing properties of cannabidiol (CBD) derived from the hemp plant. During a CBD massage, CBD-infused oils, creams, or lotions are applied to the skin, where they can be absorbed transdermally. CBD is known for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and relaxation-inducing properties, which can enhance the effects of the massage. The combination of skilled hands-on techniques and CBD-infused products can help alleviate muscle tension, reduce pain and inflammation, and promote a deeper sense of relaxation and well-being, making it an increasingly popular choice for those seeking holistic relief from various ailments.
I tell clients to undress to their comfort level- whatever that means to you! Underwear on? Great! Underwear off? Sure! You’ll be draped the whole time, so I don’t care as long as you’re comfortable. I’ve had people leave sweatpants on, socks on, hats on…. Whatever you need to do to be the most comfortable. Obviously, there are limitations to things I can do (foot massages are tough to do over socks) depending on what you wear, but it’s your massage. You do you.
Yes! PLEASE! I am a lot of things, but I am not a mind reader. I don’t know what you are thinking unless you tell me. I promise it won’t hurt my feelings. I’ll check in with you several times throughout the massage; communication is crucial to a good massage.
If you want to! Everyone relaxes in different ways! If you want to relax in silence, please do. If you want to chit-chat, let’s do it! But definitely speak up if you feel any pain, you’re too hot or too cold, or you forgot to mention anything in your health history.
Let me know! I can change pressure or avoid that area altogether. Communication is key!
I 👏 do 👏 not 👏 care 👏.
It’s common to feel a little sore after a massage. I recommend putting ice on the sore spot and drinking a lot of water after the massage.

Caffeine can dehydrate your muscles and cause them to tense back up.
Alcohol can increase inflammation and prevent muscle tissue recovery
Strenuous exercise- you’re at a higher risk of straining muscles and tissue.
I will return to begin the massage once settled on the table. I'll use a variety of techniques, such as effleurage (long, sweeping strokes), petrissage (kneading and squeezing), and friction (deep, targeted pressure) to address your specific needs and preferences.
After the consultation, I will leave the room to give you privacy to undress to your comfort level. I will typically provide instructions on how to position yourself on the massage table, whether face-up or face-down, and may offer draping for modesty.
Once you've filled out the form, I may briefly consult with you to discuss your responses in more detail. I might ask clarifying questions about your health history, specific areas of concern, and your preferences for the massage (such as pressure level and focus areas).
Before the massage begins, you will fill out a form. This form gathers information about your medical history, current injuries or health conditions, and reasons for seeking massage therapy. It helps the me understand your needs and tailor the massage accordingly.
I will check in with you throughout the massage to ensure the pressure and techniques are comfortable. It's important to communicate openly with your therapist about your discomfort or preferences during the session.
After the massage is complete, I will leave the room to allow you to dress privately. I may offer water or other post-massage recommendations, such as stretches or self-care techniques, to maintain the benefits of the massage.
Depending on your needs and my recommendations, you may schedule follow-up sessions to continue addressing your concerns or to maintain your well-being in general.
“At 72, I have had over 50 massages in my life, probably more. On cruise ships, at private businesses, and even a spa in Egypt looking over the Red Sea. This was by far the best massage I have ever experienced.”
"I have chronic pain and an autoimmune condition and have tried several massage therapists in Traverse City. Jenna is by far the best I’ve found in the area. Her deep tissue relieves pain for several days and she’s always willing to make adjustments as needed. Highly recommend!"
“Jenna is the absolute best massage therapist I have ever worked with. She had the rare combination of being warm and friendly while also being super professional and skilled. I am so grateful to have found her!”
“She has the body of a Greek goddess and the hands of a Russian wrestler.”
